The Health Museum, also known as the John P. McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science, is known as Houston’s premiere interactive science learning center where everyone in the family will learn lots of interesting information about fitness and good physical, mental and spiritual health while having fun. The museum holds over 200,000 visitors annually and has held more than 1.5 million visitors since its opening. Bring your entire family in one of Houston’s top public attractions and enjoy a memorable time together.


The Health Museum would give everyone in the family a unique, innovative and interactive health and science educational experience including a hands-on walk through the human body, real organ dissections, obesity prevention and nutritional awareness, family science labs, health fairs and community outreach and so much more. The museum holds permanent and seasonal exhibits including the Amazing Body Pavilion and You: The Exhibit. Other attractions include the McGovern 4D Theater and the Sue Trammell Whitfield Gallery. The museum’s latest multi-media and special effects technology also adds to the visitor’s amazing journey to explore their physical, mental and future selves. The Gallery highlights include the Body Scanner where you can see your internal organs using modern special effects technology, the Mirror of Heredity where you can see your unique traits compared to other visitors, the Feature Change where you can take a look at yourself with different gender or ethnicity. There are still lots of interesting highlights that you and your family should explore in the museum and you might want to spend extra time to get this all done.

Visit The Health Museum at 1515 Hermann Drive, Houston, Texas every Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9am to 5pm and every Sundays from 12pm to 5pm. The museum is also open every Mondays from 9am to 5pm from the months of June through August. Admission fee is $8 for adults, $6 for children age 3-12 and seniors, and free for museum members and children age 2 and under.
